Most people who grew up in the '90s remember Marc Summers and "Double Dare." Here are some things you might not have known about the popular TV host. Following is a transcript of the video:

"Answer that question, or take the physical challenge."

Hi there. My name is Marc Summers. You may know me from "Double Dare." You may know me from "What Would You Do?" Perhaps you watch the Food Network and watched me do "Unwrapped." But I've been around for awhile.

So here's the thing I didn't know when I started "Double Dare," is I had this little thing called obsessive-compulsive disorder. Now mine was about neatness and orderliness, but it was a little bit about staying clean and not getting messy. People say to me all the time, "Well, you must have hated it." I didn't, you know. Think about it. I've been around in LA for about 13 years. It was my first real job on television. So I was happy as hell to have it.

I was actually a disc jockey when I was about 14 or 15 years old. But then I learned magic. Because magic could get you at least as a performer on stage somewhere. So I started off doing birthday parties, and then I did, you know, weddings, bar mitzvahs, dog shows, wakes. You name it, I did it. And my idle at the time was Johnny Carson. Well, I found out that Johnny started off as a magician as well. So I figured, well if I'm going to someday host "The Tonight Show," I better do what Johnny did and start magic.

My favorite food of all time is pizza. I could eat pizza 3 times a day, 7 days a week. There's nothing better.

My favorite band? Wow, now that's crazy, that's tough. You know, I'm an old-school guy. My favorite performer’s probably James Taylor. I've seen him a million times. I'm a Jethro Tull guy. Here's one, this weekend I'm going to Vegas to see the Doobie Brothers and Chicago. So, you know, that's the kind of stuff I I kind of love. But then I also love Eminem, so, you know, go figure. I'm all over the place.

Why did I change my name? I moved on LA in 1973, and I was Mark Berkowitz. And I didn't think anything about it. And then I wake up one morning, and the "Son of Sam," David Berkowitz, gets caught. Now, I'm not related. In fact that guy was adopted. He wasn't even a real Berkowitz. And so my agent at the time said, "You gotta change your name." Okay, um, what do you do? How do you change your name?

Growing up in Indiana, there was a DJ. Who’s still around, and his name is Dick Summer. And when I moved to Boston to go to college, he was on WKOX in Boston and I always loved Dick Summer, so I stole his name, put an S on the end, and became Marc Summers. and I started to work.

If I could host one show right now what it would be? You know, years and years ago, I always thought about doing late night television. But I've realized throughout the years that I'm not a late night TV guy. What interests me the most is morning TV. So doing the "Today" show, and hosting something like that would be fantastic.

Unfortunately, they don't hire old guys like me to do that anymore. But could I do it? No question.

Following is the transcript of the video:

At the bottom we have a peppery-tasting arugula. While it's got Vitamins A and K, it's lacking a real nutrient punch.

Next is the perennial, burger-topping iceberg lettuce. You'll need 33 cups of the stuff to get your daily Vitamin C.

Our purple friend here is called radicchio. It's packed with more than 100% of the Vitamin K you need in a day. That’s the vitamin that promotes blood-clotting to help wounds heal.

Leaf lettuce is one the most nutritious in our lettuce family. Low in calories — high in vitamins A and K!

Endive is a bitter cousin of radicchio. Loaded with vitamins, it has 20% of the vitamin A you'll need. Vitamin A is an essential part of normal vision and a health immune system.

This pretty red and green leaf is chard. And it's a powerhouse. We're talking 300% of your daily vitamin K.

As well as magnesium to control blood pressure, glucose levels and to help muscle and nerve functions.

Coming near the top is — butter lettuce? It's also called Boston or Bibb lettuce. But unlike real butter, this is crammed with folate, iron, and potassium.

No Caesar salad is complete without romaine lettuce. The CDC calls this a top 10 powerhouse food. One cup has more than 80% of your vitamin A.

And at the very top we have a tie!

Popeye was right! Spinach is a phytonutrient-packed beast. Filled with both iron and potassium, it's got what you need to regulate blood pressure. And 402% of that Vitamin K.

Tied with spinach for first is Kale.One cup has all the Vitamin A, C, and K you need for the day.

On July 4, 1996, the Mars Pathfinder landed on Mars. Since then, NASA has had at least one robot studying the red planet, slowly uncovering its secrets.

Oceans cover 70% of our world and produce much of the oxygen we breathe. They provide food and jobs for people around globe. Yet they remain mostly mysterious. Only a fraction of these vast waters has been explored, and much of the underwater world is little understood.

Our maps of the sea floor are less detailed than our maps of the moon or Mars. There's only one operational permanent underwater research facility on the planet: the Aquarius Reef Base.

The lab is operated by Florida International University (FIU), though it's also used by NASA, the US Navy, and researchers and educators from around the globe.

As NASA's Juno probe flew over Jupiter on July 10th, it snapped photographs of the planet's most iconic feature, the Great Red Spot. Following is a transcript of the video.

This is our closest look at Jupiter's iconic "Great Red Spot." These photographs were taken by NASA's Juno probe. It flew just 5,600 miles above the Great Red Spot — an enormous storm that's 1.3 times as wide as Earth. The storm is believed to have lasted for over 350 years.

How it persisted for that long is a mystery. But recent studies suggest the Great Red Spot is shrinking.

Scientists are studying the new photographs and data to better understand the large and long-lasting storm. Juno has been orbiting Jupiter for over a year. It's already sent back photos of Jupiter's rings and turbulent south pole. We can't wait to see what it sends back next!

Anika Bhagavatula, a 14-year-old student from Wilton, Connecticut, is one of the national finalists in the Discovery Education 3M Young Scientist Challenge — a science and engineering competition for middle school students that earns the winner a $25,000 award as well as title of "America's Top Young Scientist."

Bhagavatula's project uses unconventional materials — what some people would consider garbage — to absorb oil and perhaps one day, become a new, better way to clean up oil spills.

We spoke with her about how she came up with this idea and how she conducted her research. The following is a transcript of the video.

The reason why I wanted to pinpoint oil spills was because there has been a lot of talk about the Dakota pipeline. And the reason why people don't want this is because oil spills are a huge issue which can occur, obviously, from pipelines. And these oil spills can contaminate drinking-water sources and harm wildlife.

Hi, my name is Anika Bhagavatula, and I am 14 years old, and I am in eighth grade.

And so I wanted to find a natural sorbent which could clean up these oil spills and would replace harmful remediation solutions, which, while effective, can damage the environment. Right now, this is the sorbent that I use to clean up oil from oil spills.

So I wanted to focus on using the parts of fruit or natural materials that are typically thrown away. I tested different types of sorbent materials — banana peels, pomegranate husks, and orange peels — and I found that pomegranate husks and orange peels were the most effective.

So I first tested the amount of time it took to remove the oil from the water. Then I wanted to find the optimal weights of the sorbents.

I also wanted to find the optimal mix, since pomegranate husks worked better in freshwater and orange peels worked better in salt water. Then I tested the sorbent in motor oil, and I found that it was very effective, absorbing two to three times its own weight.

Depending on the size of the oil spill, different types of different sizes of sorbents can be used, and maybe they should be targeted for more pipeline spills, which are smaller.

And since this is adsorption — so what that means is the oil is coated on the outside of the peels — it can be assumed that with high-pressure compression, oil can be extracted from the sorbent, and then it can be reused since the composition hasn't been changed.

The next step that I would like to do with my mentor is to find a biodegradable material to put the filling or put the sorbent in so that the whole product would be biodegradable and can be used for oil spills as a natural material.
